Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. </I></div> <bR> <div> Islam is the religion articulated by the Qur’an, a book considered by its adherents to be the verbatim word of the single incomparable Allah and by the Islamic prophet Muhammad's demonstrations and real-life examples (called the Sunnah, collected through narration of his companions in collections of Hadith). Muhammad, it is claimed was the last of the great prophets which included Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus and some others. The basic belief of Islam is expressed in the shahadah, the Muslim confession of faith, "There is no god but Allah; Muhammad is the prophet of Allah."</div> <bR> <div> Mecca at the time Muhammad was born was inhabited by the tribe of Quraysh (Koreish) to which Muhammad’s clan of Hasim belonged. The city was a mercantile center with shrines to many gods, chief of whom was llah. The Ka'bah sanctuary in the city square supposedly guaranteed the safety of those who came to trade. The pre-Islamic deities of Arabia which were most venerated were astral deities, especially the triad of the moon god, the sun goddess, and the god associated with the planet Venus. The moon god was the chief and was protector of the cities. These deities were given various names however the moon god was evidently originally the Babylonian moon god Sin. To end division among his people in Mecca, Muhammad elevated the moon god A llah to the chief and only god.</div> <bR> <div> Among the visitors and residents of Mecca in the time of the prophet were Jews as well as Christians. Muhammad's thinking was further heavily influenced by these followers of Abraham, as well as by special revelations which were supposedly communicated to him by the angel Gabriel. The God of Abraham was not llah, however, but Yahweh. Abraham was called by Yahweh from Ur of the Chaldees (Babylon) and told to renounce the pagan gods of his family which were the gods of Babylon. In fact Babylon was the seat of all false religion after the Flood of Noah and from Babylon idolatry spread throughout the rest of the ancient world. Muhammad assigned to the moon god of Mecca some of the attributes of the god of Abraham however the pagan and occultic roots of pre-Islamic religion were not discarded.</div> <bR> <div> Muhammad was persecuted for his teachings in Mecca and fled to Medina in 622 AD. His teachings were soon accepted and the community-state of Islam emerged. From the date of Muhammad's flight, called the hijrah, Muslims begin their calendar---AH (Anno Hegirae) 287 is the same as AD (Anno Domini) 900. </div> <bR> <div> During the early period Islam acquired its characteristic ethos as a religion uniting itself in both the spiritual and temporal aspects of life and seeking to regulate not only the individual's relationship to God but human relationships in a social setting as well. Thus, there is not only an Islamic religious institution (private) but also an Islamic code/law governing society (public).</div> <bR> <div> This dual religious and social character of Islam expressed itself as a religious community commissioned by God to bring its own value system to the world through jihad (holy war or holy struggle).</div> <div> Islam is the predominant religion in much of Africa, the Middle East and major parts of Asia. With a population of 1.57 billion Muslims, Islam is the second-largest religion in the world and arguably the fastest growing religion in the world. </div> <bR> <div> <U>Revelation 6:1-2 </U></div> <div> I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."</I> </div> <div> As recorded in the book of Revelation, Jesus the Lamb of God is seen by the Apostle John opening the first of the seven seals which sealed up the words spoken to Daniel concerning the time of the end or the last days of this evil age.</div> <bR> <div> <U>Acts 2:16-17</U></div> <div> <I>No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:" 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.</I></div> <bR> <div> The last days began at Pentecost and continue until the return of Christ. The seals that are opened reveal what was written concerning the period of time from the birth of the church until the rapture of the church at the 7th trumpet and the return of Christ with his bride to rule and reign over the nations.</div> <bR> <div> The opening of the first seal reveals a rider on a white horse, holding a bow, given a crown and bent on conquest. Christ was given all power and authority at the resurrection. This rider on a white horse was given a crown (stephanos) which is a sign of authority. He did not already possess authority. It was not a king’s crown (diadem) that he received. Although the rider has the appearance of Christ and as a man of peace (no arrow in his bow), he is bent on conquest. This seal parallels the 1st prophecy of the Olivet Discourse that false christs would soon arise after the ascension of Jesus into the heavens. Satan comes as an angel of light. The Antichrist seems to be a man of peace but in actuality is determined to rule the world.</div> <bR> <div> The word Islam has multiple meanings. In Arabic, Islam contains the same three consonants the word salaam, which directly translates as peace. Other meanings of Islam include submission, or the total surrender of oneself to Allah. When the two root words are put together, the word 'Islam' gives the meaning 'Peace acquired by submission to the will of Allah'. Remember that the dual religious and social character of Islam expresses itself as a religious community commissioned by Allah to bring its own value system to the world through jihad (holy war or holy struggle). She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.</div> <bR> <div> Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before immigrating to America in 1978, when she was eight years old. Her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel. He was a high-ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza .When he died he was considered a "Shahid," a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.</div> <bR> <div> But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television.</div> <div> In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping Sharia law - what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries.</div> <bR> <div> For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose Sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed. Westerners generally assume all religions encourage a respect for the dignity of each individual. Islamic law (Sharia) teaches that non-Muslims should be subjugated or killed in this world. </div> <bR> <div> Peace and prosperity for one's children is not as important as assuring that Islamic law rules everywhere in the Middle East and eventually in the world.</div> <bR> <div> While Westerners tend to think that all religions encourage some form of the golden rule, Sharia teaches two systems of ethics - one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims.
